This place was excellent. Great food and great service. We had a reservation and were seated in less than 10 minutes. The cauliflower was tender and seasoned well. The garlic knot was perfectly garlicky and cheesy. The salad had a good balance of lettuce and toppings and was very light. The pizza is a must--we had the mushroom one and a sausage one--zero left overs. Our server was sweet to give our bride a dessert treat before we left. The only note is that this is a fully outdoor restaurant. It was 108 degrees and we were boiling while getting soaked by misters the entire meal. Our dresses and hair were soaked through by the end--we had to go home and change before continuing on.

Our first time at Birba was absolutely incredible!!! Our 2nd and 3rd time felt like it had gone downhill and perhaps has lost oversight of owners or managers. Took a long time to be greeted and overhead the host telling our server "I'm sorry I promise this will be your last table!" Server was extremely awkward and didn't know how to explain anything on the menu. We actually felt bad for him, maybe he was having a rough night but his personality was definitely lacking all around as far as personable, knowledgeable, and friendly service. I'm not sure I'll go back. Used to be so good, but now, I just don't know anymore. Ambience is one of the better things it has going.

Everything was fantastic - food, drinks, ambiance - and our waiter, Ian!!! Truly made our night memorable. If you are getting pizza, get the Birba. I'm taking a slice home to frame it.

Takeaways: Birba is a cute downtown outdoor patio option to accompany a night out... with decent Italian food and wine! I visited Birba this past weekend for a girls trip. Given that it would prelude a night out, I was looking for dinner spot that had good ambience, Palm Springs-y, and near downtown. Birba was a great option for all of the above. We had a reservation for 8:45pm and were sat within 3 minutes. The ambience was perfect -- the trees and string lights were beautiful. Patio was filled and diners were mostly bachelorette parties and dates. We enjoyed: Roasted Cauli app Cavatappi al pesto Spaghetti Pomodoro Rigatoni al salsicca Birba pizza Salted butterscotch pudding (comped thank you!) Definitely good portions and good quality. We liked everything that we ordered, but can't say there was anything that absolutely blew us away. Next time I visit, I would probably reorder everything with exception of the cauliflower app (lackluster...but definitely not bad!). My favorites were the Rigatoni and the Birba pizza. Don't pass on the chili oil to add on everything! Service was attentive and very friendly. I would certainly rate Birba as a strong option for Italian food and ambience in downtown Palm Springs!

can't say enough about this spot. the outside dining is impeccable. they've made a nice, filled joyful patio that's still romantic and cozy. plenty of heat lamps and love the couch area. the service was amazing. loved our waitress and appreciated her appreciation of food. i really love it when i can geek out with servers about the food. and...the food. wow. garlic knot, decadent. rainbow beet salad, refreshing. pizza, unique and somehow not too many toppings while still being a punch in the tastebuds. the pasta, nicely spiced and perfectly textured. for dessert we got the torta di birba, which paired great with italian inspired cocktail. the wine list is great, too. can't go wrong here

Place is mainly outdoor!!! What a vibe make a reservation but if you don't the bar area is open which was a plus for us cause Lugo, Mickey and Sherri was AMAZING!!! An epitome of great customer service always engaged with us and it was a great way to see lugo make all the drinks. Food... the starters roasted cauliflower and the garlic knot had great flavor order the homemade marinara with it... the dinner birba pizza is a must try!!! The spaghetti was also simple but great in flavor. Definitely recommend and try this place!!!!

Had a dinner reservation for a bachelorette party and there were some hits and misses throughout the night. This restaurant is very very busy (went on a Saturday night) so be sure to make a reservation otherwise you would probably only have a Birba bar experience. The hits: - the pastas - the birba pizza (not pictured) - the desserts (which were comped which was very nice) - friendly staff - cute patio space - cute (but strong) drinks The misses: - the garlic knot: it was stodgy, lacked salt & had the tiniest amount of cheese. We will KNOT be ordering this again... - the food did not come out all at once so when someone was done (or almost done) eating their meal, some others had not even received their meal yet - spaghetti pomodoro portions were SMALL - we had a reservation and was seated at least 10-20 min after, to which this wouldn't normally bother me, but there is no great area to wait so no matter where we stood we felt in the way - one of the outdoor heaters was not working very well (again this wouldn't normally bother me but because it was so cold and windy, this is something staff should've been attentive to)

Came here for Valentine's dinner. It was exactly for what we were looking for: a romantic dinner, not crowded, quiet enough to hear our conversation, creative tasty adult beverages and great food that's gourmet but not too frou frou, but could pass for spontaneous frou frou if that makes sense? Birba excels in that. We even got our reservations bumped up a little because it was too close to closing. Table was was next to the fire pit and surrounded by heat lanterns, so we didn't feel cold at all. Did a "Lady & the tramp" style meal, shared the popular Birba pizza, had Italian beer/Mexican flying squad drink and topped off with tiramisu - YUM! All the staff was excellent & our waitress, young lady I didn't get her name, was very accommodating, very personable and made two old people feel like they belonged she was great! The patrons were mixed young to old, everyone was just enjoying their meals with their company. It was also nice to see that crowd dress up for Valentine's dinner, little bit upscale but not exactly black tie but definitely classy sexy and not inappropriate (ie, underdressed, skanky, or lazy casual) Birba & Palm Springs knows how to execute an evening out.

Came here to Palm Springs from out of town for a bachelorette. Loved the ambience. Outdoor seating, with heating lamps. Ambience was adorable for dinner, candle lit and private enough to have intimate conversation. Food: (Pizzas to share) - BIRBA - prosciutto, honey, chili oil Out of the two pizzas our table ordered, this one was my fave because I really enjoyed the subtle sweetness of the honey, and slight spice of the chili oil. Crust was nice and light, as well as toppings were a good ratio. The pizza wasn't at all soggy, it did have a crunch to the bottom. I loved how they played on the savory and sweet with this pizza. - HOMEMADE CLASSIC- sausage, mushroom, sweet onion, tomato If you're looking for more toppings on the pizza, I would order and try this. I'm a huge mushroom and sausage fan, so I enjoyed this combo a lot as well. - CAVATAPPI AL PESTO I ordered the Pesto pasta, alongside the shared pizza, and I enjoyed it! The portions were generous. The ricotta paired excellent with the flavors with the pesto pasta. If you're looking for a lighter on the sauce pasta, and a fan of ricotta, try this! I enjoyed! Drinks: -ESPRESSO MARTINI Was unfortunate not a fan. Spirit forward, and did not compliment the food palette well. Service: Also was not a fan. Found the service to be on the slower side. Waitress didn't check in as much after the food was ordered/delivered. Drinks came out after the meals, with reminder. Did feel sort of rushed as we dined closer to close. Overall could definaltey work on improvement.
